Sarah + Joe: Wedding Day

I have been looking forward to Sarah & Joe's wedding day ever since they got engaged in August of last year. These two are the absolute SWEETEST and the love that they share is so deep. I first met them at Sarah's twin sister Rachael's wedding last year, and was SO excited when they reached out to have me document their wedding day as well. Sarah and Rachael have the nicest family and I loved being able to see them all again. I started the day off by meeting Sarah and her bride tribe at the Parlour On The Avenue. This was such a cute little place and was perfect for getting ready on a wedding day! After finishing up with hair and makeup here, we all headed back to Sarah's parents' house to capture a few important wedding details & to give everyone time to get dressed. Sarah's mom helped Sarah get into her dress before having her first look with her dad and bridesmaids. It was so sweet to see how excited everyone was to celebrate this day and and I'm so glad it turned out as beautiful as it did. Even though it was predicted to rain throughout the day, the weather held off and we had an absolutely gorgeous afternoon and evening!

After everyone finished up with getting ready, we headed to the church! This was actually my first time photographing a wedding in this church since I got married here this past January. It's so incredibly beautiful and means even more to me to capture weddings here now that I've been a bride here as well. These photos are absolutely gorgeous and I'm in love with the way they turned out. While I was hanging out with Sarah and her girls in one of the front rooms, my incredible second shooter Sam was busy hanging out with Joe and his guys as they finished getting ready. She also took a few photos of Joe alone in the empty church and I love that it's so easy to see his confidence and excitement to be married in them. Joe's reaction to Sarah walking down the aisle absolutely MELTS me and it's so precious to see the happiness radiate off of both of them after their first kiss. Sarah and Joe share such a special bond and I love that it shows through in these photos.

After the ceremony, we took a few family photos in the church (but those are for Sarah & Joe to share!) before heading out to take a few bridal party and couples portraits. I work with a lot of different bridal parties, but this group was a new favorite! They brought speakers with music so that we could jam while taking photos and getting the whole group together to take a shot was SO much fun! Plus, these colors are incredible!!

Over the past three years as a wedding photographer, I've met a lot of awesome couples. The love that each couple shares is so unique, but I have to say that Sarah and Joe share a special kind of love. The admiration they have while looking into one another's eyes, the stollen kisses, the belly laughs, these two were (and always are!) an absolute DREAM to photograph. I always make it a goal of mine to look back at a photo I take and be able to feel what someone is feeling in that moment, to be able to hear their laughter. When I look through these photos of Sarah & Joe, I feel like I'm right back at the park with them watching as they share in their newlywed bliss!

Believe it or not, it actually rained on our way to the Meadowbrook Banquet Center for their reception. It only happened for about ten minutes, but rain on a wedding day is good luck, right?? It was perfectly timed and by the time we arrived at their party, the sky cleared up! Sarah & Joe's wedding reception was the icing on the cake! The night was full of fun, delicious food, and dancing. It was awesome to see so many people come together to celebrate such a wonderful couple and I'm so glad that this night was everything Sarah & Joe dreamed of.

I was a little nervous that we wouldn't get a sunset because of the rain that rolled through before the reception started, but there was nothing to worry about! The clouds cleared and we had an absolutely gorgeous golden hour. I always love it when my couples schedule out a few minutes in their timeline to step away from the reception and spend time in the setting sun together. Golden hour portraits are always some of my favorite photos from the entire day and stepping away from friends and family lets the new Mr. & Mrs. take a moment to appreciate the gorgeous day they've had before continuing to celebrate!

Sarah & Joe, you two were incredible to work with and I'm so thankful that you trusted me to capture such an important day in your relationship for you. I hope that you love your photos and can't wait for you to see the rest in the mail here soon! Congratulations, again Mr. & Mrs. Brodman!
