I ended my 2023 wedding season with Morgan & Oscar's New Years weekend wedding and it was such a dream to be able to capture it for them! December weddings are always so beautiful and we had such a perfect day!
I started my morning off by meeting Morgan & her bridesmaids at The Transept. This was a completely new venue for me and I absolutely fell in love with how beautiful it was! The stained glass windows in the getting ready space were so dreamy and created the perfect backdrop for Morgan to get into her dress. The balcony overlooking the reception space was perfect for photos and the dark purple color that Morgan chose for her bridesmaids was beyond gorgeous! Morgan shared the sweetest first look moment with her dad and then it was time for us to head to the church!
While I was hanging out with Morgan and her girls, my second shooter, Sam, was down in the basement at The Transept with Oscar and his guys. Once they were all dressed and ready, they headed across the street to Washington Park for some photos. Washington Park is such a fun spot and it’s so convenient that it’s so close to The Transept!
Morgan & Oscar got married at St. Francis Xavier Church and they had such a beautiful ceremony. Oscar had the sweetest reaction to seeing his soon-to-be wife for the first time and I still can’t get over how absolutely stunning this church was. After the ceremony we took a few family photos, but I’m saving those for Morgan & Oscar to share with you!
After the ceremony, we headed to Eden Park for photos! We started with photos of the girls in their gorgeous plum colored dresses before bringing in the rest of the bridal party. I’ve photographed two other weddings for two of the other couples in this bridal party and I always just LOVE working with this group of people. They’re full of fun and laughter and are always up for anything. They’re also such troopers for battling the cold day we had! Just by looking at these photos, you’d never know we had a team of people surrounding us, prepared to jump in and wrap the group with fuzzy blankets in between poses! After finishing up with the bridal party, it was time for portraits of Morgan & Oscar together. These two are the absolute cutest and giggled together the entire time we were taking photos. Such a dream!
Once we were done with photos, we headed back to The Transept to join in on cocktail hour & the reception! This was such a beautiful space and was absolutely perfect for the fun night ahead. Morgan’s dad started the night off with a heartfelt speech about watching Morgan and Oscar fall in love throughout the years. Oscar’s dad said a prayer before we had an absolutely delicious dinner and then Morgan & Oscar cut their cake. Morgan’s sister & Oscar’s brother both shared the sweetest speeches and then Morgan & Oscar went from table to table to get photos taken with all of their guests! Once they shared their first dance together and then dances with their parents, the dance floor officially opened up and the party began! This was such a fun filled night and truly a dream to capture. Ryland Family weddings are always a favorite of mine and I’m so sad that we don’t get to do it all again in a few months! Morgan & Oscar, thank you so much for trusting me to document such a special day for you two!! Congratulations, again!!
