The Georgiton Family Photos

The Georgiton Family was one of the very first families I photographed almost SEVEN years ago. I can't believe how long it's been since I started this journey, and I'm so glad I finally got to photograph this group again.

When it comes to family photos, I feel like "the" setting to choose involves a field. Don't get me wrong, I love my sessions that involve running through fields of wildflowers in the golden hour sun, but sometimes, things need to change. I am SO excited this group opted for an untraditional location. It's not common to take family photos in front of abandoned garage doors, brick walls, and alleyways, but I'm so excited that the Georgiton family was up for anything I suggested.

I feel like I don't typically take family photos, but every time that I do they make me so happy. Working with a family almost makes my job too easy. You're taking pictures of a group of people who not only love one another, but who all know how to make the people around them genuinely laugh. All I do is stand back and capture the moment!

Family is everything. With Thanksgiving coming up this week, it's such a special reminder to be thankful for the family members in your own life. Appreciate their love and presence and be thankful that you get to spend another holiday season with them close to home.

I am just so thankful for this sweet family! I can't believe how much we've all grown up since the last time I took their photos. Just because I think we all need to take a moment to appreciate growth and change, here's a comparison from their family shoot in 2012 to the session we had this week. Isn't it incredible?
