Hello, friends! I'm back with another portrait session! This week I was lucky enough to meet and work with Mackenzie. Mackenzie and I started planning her session after I worked with one of her friends last week (thanks for the referral, Kim!).
After looking through Kim's session in OTR, Mackenzie knew that she wanted pictures in an urban setting as well, but not in the same place. Instead, we decided to head across the river and explore Mainstrasse Village in Covington.
I had taken a few engagement photos in this area before, but I absolutely LOVED it for portraits. We were able to find so many hidden gems that made for perfect backdrops.
Mackenzie is a senior at NKU and will graduate this coming May with a business/finance degree. Even though she said that getting portraits taken isn't something that she'd normally do, changing it up a bit is a way to keep life exciting. Just look at her, she absolutely ROCKED this change!
I always encourage my clients to bring friends along to their sessions, and I'm so glad Mackenzie took me up on the offer. She invited her friend Lauren along to crack jokes and make funny noises behind me so that I could capture these genuine smiles. I LOVE how natural they are!
Right before we wrapped up, we spotted this little pink house. Mackenzie loves pink so we headed over to get a few of our finishing shots in front of it. As I was snapping photos, I said how much the pink/white/red combo reminded me of Valentine's Day (because it's so close!) and she laughed and said how much she loved Valentine's Day. When I asked why, she said "last year I broke up with my boyfriend on Valentine's Day. It was great." And then we all laughed. It was fun! I always love the stories my clients tell me :)
Portrait sessions are so much fun and I love all the new clients I've been able to work with over the past few weeks. Over the next few days I'll be transitioning back to newborns and boudoir, but if you're looking for a portrait photographer for yourself, let me know and we can work something out!
